Tel Aviv Gallery Tour with Shirel Horovitz

Contemporary art in Tel Aviv is an ever changing scene reflecting the local temperament and issues alongside the hottest world trends. In this tour, we'll visit between three and six galleries exploring the contemporary art scene as a whole as well as the specific exhibitions and artists, to give you an insider's view of this fascinating world. We’ll weave the exploration of the galleries with the history of Kiryat Hamelacha - the area they are located in and the heart of the local art scene.  Through the combined look at the art and this unique part of Tel Aviv, we'll explore questions of socioeconomics, politics, gender and more.

Through drawing, sculpting, video and sound, Shirel Horovitz’s installations and performances explore the relations between cities and communities. She earned her BFA from Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, her MA from the Interdisciplinary Art Program at Tel Aviv University, and has been studying and practicing Zen-Buddhist inquiry meditation since 2006. Her works have been exhibited in museums and galleries across Israel
