About the Event

Hummus is one of the most common street foods found in Israel and has its own kind of ‘identity crisis’ with a political flavor.  Whose food is it?  Israel hummus Israeli? In this webinar we will talk about the origin of hummus, it’s popularity and how it became a mean to discuss identity and the Israeli Palestinian conflict. We will also touch the marketing of Hummus worldwide and the conversation it created outside of the Middle East region. Learn how to make fresh homemade Hummus that will taste nothing like the store bought version!

Avigail Kuperman is a licensed tour guide and teacher who  gives lectures on the geo politics of the region with a connection to our food.  She is also a food professional and  cooked and worked in an atalier in the Machane Yehuda market in Jerusalem.
